2017 Touriga Nacional Tempranillo Graciano
Touriga is tannic, perfumed and dark-skinned with notes of bergamot and rock roses. The whole is greater than the sum in this blend with Touriga, Tempranillo and Graciano playing their roles respectively: providing fleshy fruit, structure and spice.
In this Iberian blend, Touriga Nacional’s perfume greets you with notes of forest floor and cherry laced with dark chocolate. A medley of blackcurrants and mulberries turns to lavender and something more savoury on the palate, finishing with fine, velvety tannins - courtesy of the Tempranillo. The Graciano plays a necessary fiddle, leaving lingering hints of juicy fruits peppered with sparkling acidity.
This 'Capisce' speaks of afternoons spent with friends over a communal table laden with food to indulge in and enjoy together - something we value deeply up on the hill at Samuel's Gorge.
